Here is a guy that knows what he is talking about when he talks about the music industry.
In ten years not only will we say to each other, “Remember HD-DVDs?” We’ll also likely be saying “Remember DVDs?”
I have lived here in Brazil for well over two years. Do you know how many people’s houses I have been in who have VHS players? Zero.
None.
It struck me as odd at first, but now it is normal. DVD is the current way to transfer video. CDs are for audio. Cassette players also do not exist in the tech ecosystem here.
Stores do not sell either type of player, or if they do they don’t advertise them.
Really looking forward to seeing certain movies on blu-Ray on a HDTV when I get back to the States.
While this does not directly effect me at the moment, it will in the future. I am glad it turned out this way. From the beginning it appeared to me that HD-dvd was far inferior technically speaking. I was not excited about the prospect of it being another BETA format.
One of the few interviews that I have read recently that was a fun read. If you are a fan of Gruber, or Shawn Blanc this is a great read.
This is a great read if you are headed to Rio de Janeiro.
While it may not take the place of Wordpress, it is a very interesting option for a content management system.

Speech or presentation?
Some really great tips on how to put together a presentation… or a speech. One tip is to stick to the presentation software that you like to help you avoid writing a book instead of a presentation.

Great stuff. I used to play tuba, and messed around like that sometimes. But never thought to actually make it into sheet music.
